Republicans both nationally and locally reacted to last year’s losses by talking about party direction, messaging, and use of technology. All of these ongoing topics are legitimate points of discussion.
However, as Republicans begin to turn their focus toward the 2014 campaigns, voters are certainly open to GOP messaging on several topics–areas in which the voters are favorable to Republicans.
A recent Pew Research poll finds that a plurality of independent voters regard Republicans as “better able to deal with the economy.” A growing number of Americans see the GOP as “better able to manage the government.”
To continue to grow a candidate’s percentage of support beyond the 50% mark, Republicans must continue to address problems with women, voters under 50 years of age and minorities.
