STORY CITY– Story County Republicans will remember one of the party’s most revered activists and rally volunteers in her memory on October 27.
The annual Wendy Jensen Memorial Chili Supper is scheduled for 5:30 pm on Monday, October 27 at the Story City Community Center, 503 Elm Avenue. Dinner will be served at 6 pm
Between 2008 and 2011, Jensen, a Story City native, made over 100,000 calls for Republican candidates. Jensen passed away suddenly in 2011.
The supper is meant to inspire volunteers during the final Get-Out-The-Vote push in the county. Story County legislative and county candidates will be on hand. Mrs. Barbara Grassley and Congressman Steve King will give remarks.
There will be a minimum donation of $10 to attend. Sponsors may purchase a table for $150. Attendees should RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.

The next meeting of the Story County Republican Central Committee will be held Monday, October 13 at 7:00 PM at the Oakwood Road Community Center, located at 2400 Oakwood Road in Ames. Special Guest Paul Pate, Candidate for Secretary of State, will be joining us.

Story County Republicans will be helping organize and participate in a number of rallies to continue to stoke Republican enthusiasm and rally like-minded voters to the polls.
An early voting rally featuring Governor Terry Branstad, Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds, and State Senate candidate Jeremy Davis is scheduled for 5 pm, October 13, in front of Alpha Gamma Rho house at 201 Gray Avenue in Ames. See the event flyer for full details.
The Story County Republican Central Committee will then meet later that night at 7 pm at Oakwood Road Community Center in Ames. Secretary Of State candidate Paul Pate will attend and present remarks.
There will be two speakers at this month’s Ames Conservative Breakfast, which will take place on Thursday, October 2 at Pizza Ranch, 1404 Boston Avenue, from 7-8 am.
The first speaker is Keith Morgan, Emergency Management Coordinator, Story County Emergency Management. Keith will describe the mission of emergency management how citizens can participate. Morgan will describe who serves on the commission and their duties.
The second speaker will be Greg Shaw, President of the Cyclone Amateur Radio Club. He will be sharing information about ham radios, including licensing, uses, and testing procedures.
