Ames, IA – The Republican Party of Story County announced today that Illinois Congressman Adam Kingzinger will be the keynote speaker for the eighth annual Wendy Jensen Memorial Chili Supper. This special event will take place at Oakwood Road Church in Ames on Saturday, December 9th with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. State Auditor Mary Mosiman will also be speaking and additional speaker announcements are expected.
Congressman Kinzinger was first elected to Congress at the age of 32 and is currently serving his fourth term in the United States House of Representatives. Prior to being elected to Congress, Kinzinger served in the Air Force in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Currently serving as a Deputy Republican Whip at the age of 39, Congressman Kinzinger is one of the youngest Members of Congress and was named ‘A Republican Role Model for 2017’ by the Washington Post. His top priorities include strengthening U.S. energy policy and making our nation less reliant on foreign resources as well as bolstering the strength of our national security – both at home and abroad.
“Congressman Kinzinger is a rising star in the Republican Party,” said Chairman Brett Barker. “Our Wendy Jensen Memorial Chili Supper is a very special event and we looking forward to hearing from Congressman Kinzinger.”
The dinner is an annual tradition in memory of Wendy Jensen. Wendy selflessly dedicated countless hours volunteering for Republican causes from 2008-2011.
