CONGRESSMAN ADAM KINZINGER (R-IL) TO HEADLINE ANNUAL STORY COUNTY GOP CHILI SUPPER

Ames, IA – The Republican Party of Story County announced today that Illinois Congressman Adam Kingzinger will be the keynote speaker for the eighth annual Wendy Jensen Memorial Chili Supper. This special event will take place at Oakwood Road Church in Ames on Saturday, December 9th with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. State Auditor Mary Mosiman will also be speaking and additional speaker announcements are expected.

Congressman Kinzinger was first elected to Congress at the age of 32 and is currently serving his fourth term in the United States House of Representatives. Prior to being elected to Congress, Kinzinger served in the Air Force in both Iraq and Afghanistan.  Currently serving as a Deputy Republican Whip at the age of 39, Congressman Kinzinger is one of the youngest Members of Congress and was named ‘A Republican Role Model for 2017’ by the Washington Post. His top priorities include strengthening U.S. energy policy and making our nation less reliant on foreign resources as well as bolstering the strength of our national security – both at home and abroad.

“Congressman Kinzinger is a rising star in the Republican Party,” said Chairman Brett Barker. “Our Wendy Jensen Memorial Chili Supper is a very special event and we looking forward to hearing from Congressman Kinzinger.”

The dinner is an annual tradition in memory of Wendy Jensen. Wendy selflessly dedicated countless hours volunteering for Republican causes from 2008-2011.

This special annual dinner will take place at Gatherings in Nevada on Friday, July 7, 2017 with doors opening at 5:00 p.m.

“We are thrilled to have Governor Reynolds and Lt. Governor Gregg with us on July 7,” said Brett Barker, Story County GOP Chairman. “Story County Republicans are looking forward to hearing about their vision to build a better Iowa.”

Senator Ben Sasse was elected to the United States Senate in 2014 and has quickly become one of the rising stars of the Republican Party. He campaigned tirelessly on a common-sense platform of restoring the Constitution to its rightful place and encouraging a more constructive politics where every public official works to make the American Dream achievable for every family.

Wendy Jensen Memorial Chili Supper

Nevada, IA – The Republican Party of Story County announced the theme of the seventh annual Wendy Jensen Memorial Chili Supper: “Show Some Respect: Bringing Civility to Political Discourse.” The evening will feature a panel discussion on civil discourse with Story County Supervisor Rick Sanders, Boone City Councilman and Republican State Central Committeman Gary Nystrom, and Nevada City Councilman Brett Barker.  This special event will take place at Gatherings in downtown Nevada on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 with doors opening at 5:00 p.m. Special guests for the evening will be Mrs. Barbara Grassley, Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate, State Senator Bill Dix, Congressman Steve King, and local Story County Republican candidates.

“We are looking forward to a new and unique focus with this dinner,” explained Brett Barker, Story County GOP Chairman. “Wendy was an incredible lady and we will be honoring her legacy by discussing how we can bring civility back to our discourse in this toxic political climate.”

LOCAL REPUBLICANS ANNOUNCE GRAND OPENING OF AMES OFFICE

AMES, IA – The Republican Party of Story County has announced the grand opening of the local Victory Office located at 1421 South Bell Avenue Suite 108 in Ames. The Victory Office is a partnership of all levels of the Republican Party and Republican campaigns and is a critical component of local election efforts. The Victory Office will serve as a hub for volunteers and campaign efforts in Story County.

The Grand Opening Celebration will include a ribbon cutting, free pizza and refreshments, and feature an appearance by Trump Campaign Iowa Co-Chair Tana Goertz. Anyone interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities in Story County is encouraged to attend.

AMES, IA – The Republican Party of Story County announced today Dinner and a Movie featuring the film “13 Hours.” This special event will take place at The Talent Factory in Nevada on Friday, October 7, 2016 with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy a gourmet burger bar with a complimentary showing of “13 Hours.” One of the biggest movies of 2016, “13 Hours” tells the story of the 2012 attack on the US Consolate in Benghazi, Libya.

STORY COUNTY REPUBLICANS SELECT ADDITIONAL NOMINEES

Ames, IA — On Monday, August 15, the Republican Party of Story County reconvened a special nominating convention and selected two additional nominees for the general election. Current County Supervisor Martin R Chitty, of Nevada, has been nominated as the Republican nominee for the Board of Supervisors and Becky Jordan, of Colo, has been nominated as the Republican nominee for Story County Auditor.

Martin Chitty is a long-time member of the Nevada School Board and currently serves as School Board President. “I’ve been honored to serve on the Board of Supervisors for the past two months and honor my friend Paul Toot’s legacy. I look forward to continuing to serve to the residents of Story County.”

Becky Jordan is an advanced financial analyst with a degree in Business Administration. “The auditor has the important role of being the taxpayer’s watchdog . I’m looking forward to bringing my extensive private sector background in financial management and auditing processes to county government.”

Martin and Becky will be joining other Story County Republican nominees on the November 8 ballot including Sondra Childs-Smith in House District 45, Representative Rob Bacon in House District 48, Representative Dave Deyoe in House District 49, Scott Schaben for County Supervisor, and Senator Jerry Behn in Senate District 24.
